Bueno Guatemala es bella tiene diversidad de sitios hermosos, no encuentras a decir verdad que es mas hermoso si el Mundo Maya, Semuc Champey o el Lago de Atitlan, pero como en esta oportunidad nos ocupa el hermoso lago, pues hombre no hay cosa mas bella. Salud hermoso lago

acabo de estar por segunda vez en panajachel y en santiago atitlány me parece que hay mil cosas mas por conocer y decsubrir que las que se ven en la superficie. felicidades por las intenciones que muestra este sitio en internet. me gustaría conocer a sus creadores/as.

has anyone in this village heard of a martin prechtel? I want to know if he is what he says he is. and was he really a shaman for the mayan people? I'm an alaskan native and we're suspious of a half-breed saying they are something native when they look white. thanks. elvon

You have a world famous photographer living in Santiago now (April 2008.) Her name is Megan Spelman. She is working with young indigenous adolescents in Santiago to make a video record of their lives. Their work can be seen on the FotoKids web site.

Naci en este bello y paradisiaco pueblo, y aunque vivo en VA USA no pierdo oportunidad para ir alla; La comida tipica de Santiago Atitlan se llama PATIN CHUE que esta echo a base de una salsa de tomate y pescadito es muy sabroso se los recomiendo, tambien lo hacen con carne de res y con huevo.a

I traveled to Guatemala for my second visit last November (2007) and fell in love with the country all over again. My first visit was in 2001 and was with a Pace Corp friend serving in El Salvador. We made Antigua our base and traveled to Tikal for an overnight at the Mayan ruins. It is a must see!
Again, my second visit I made Antigua my base and traveled to Santiago for the "Day of the Dead" kite festival. Very interesting and a beautiful was to honor their decease. I then went to visit an artisan group in Santigao/Atitlan on Lake Atitlan and spent a night there and came back and spent 2 nights in Panajachel and traveled out from there to Solala and ChiChi for their markets. I can highly recommend both adventures and didn't want to leave the beautiful Lake Atitlan.

My husband and I will visit Guatemala in July, 2008 to visit our daughter who is in the Peace Corps and to enjoy the beauty and culture of Guatemala. I would like to hear from anyone who wants to share a special experience or location in Guatemala.
